Section 289: Special extra diet on medical grounds

The Rajasthan Prisons Rules, 2022State Rules of Rajasthan · 1894

(1) Where the Medical Officer, for reasons of health, considers the prescribed diet to be unsuitable or insufficient for a women prisoner or her child, he may order in writing, a special diet or extra diet, for a specific period of time.

(2) Special consideration shall be given in this regard to pregnant or nursing prisoners.

(3) Rules relating to diet of prisoners, those on specific medical advice for expectant and nursing mothers, and infants and children, shall be scrupulously observed.
