Section 476: Restriction on Prohibited Articles

In accordance with sub-section (13) of section 59, of the Act, the articles, specified in rule 477 shall be deemed to be prohibited articles within the meaning of sections 42 and sub-section (12) of section 45 of the Act, unless any such article shall be —

(a) introduced into or removed from any jail;

(b) received, possessed or transferred by any prisoner; or

(c) with the permission of the Superintendent or other officers empowered by him in this behalf.
