Section 56: Intimation about death of the Prisoner

(1) When any prisoner dies, the Superintendent shall send immediate intimation to the concerned Police Station as well as to the Collector and District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police/Deputy Commissioner of Police and also to the family member or nearest relation of the Prisoner.

(2) Report on death shall be sent to the National Human Rights Commission and Rajasthan Human Rights Commission and Prisons Directorate as well as to the local municipal authority within twenty four hours which shall also be sent to the concerned Magistrate.
