Section 573: Commutation of sentence by Government

The Rajasthan Prisons Rules, 2022State Rules of Rajasthan · 1894

(1) This rule does not apply to cases in which a sentence passed by a judicial court is commuted by order of the State Government nor to cases of sentences of death commuted by the order of the Governor.

(2) In such a case, the order of the State Government or the Governor or a certified copy thereof, shall be attached to the prisoner’s warrant, on which a note setting forth the alteration of sentence, and the number and date of the Government order, shall be made and attested by the Superintendent.
