A prisoner under sentence to death shall be allowed the ordinary diet of a labouring prisoner, he may after rejection of the final appeal, be allowed, at the discretion of the Superintendent, all reasonable indulgences in the shape of sweetmeats, or extra diet and his food shall invariably be examined by the Jailor or the Medical Officer before delivery to him, and shall be given to him in the presence of one or other of these officers.
