No officer of the Jail, nor any person in trust or employed by him, shall have any interest, direct or indirect in any contract or agreement for the supply of any article to the jail nor shall he derive any benefit, directly or indirectly, from the sale or purchase of any article on behalf of the jail or belonging to a prisoner, nor shall he bid at any auction of jail property nor receive directly or indirectly, any fee, gratuity, present or loan from any contractor or person tendering for any contract with the jail or from any prisoner or prisoner’s friend or any person visiting the jail.
