Section 8: Meeting of the Council

The Rajasthan Publlc Libraries Act, 2006State Act of Rajasthan · Act 11 of 2006

(1) The Council shall meet on such dates, at such time and places and shall observe such rules of procedure in regard to the transaction of business at its meeting (including the quorum of such meeting) as may be provided by regulations;

Provided that the council shall meet at least twice in a year but six months shall not intervene between two successive meetings.

(2) The Chairperson of the Council may , whenever he thinks fit ,call a meetings of the Council ; and shall , upon written request of not less than one-third of the total number of members of the Council ,call a special meeting of the Council on a date not later than thirty days after the receipt of such request :

Provided that no special meetings shall be demanded within a period of two months from the date of last meetings of the Council.

(3) the Chairperson or in his absence , the Vice – Chairperson or in absence of both , any member chosen by the members present from among themselves shall preside over a meeting of the Council.
