Section 15: Extra-Ordinary Leave

(a) An employee may be granted extraordinary leave in special circumstances when no other leave is admissible or when other leave being admissible, the employee applies for the grant of extraordinary leave.

(b) Except in the case of a permanent employee, the duration of extraordinary leave shall not exceed three months or twelve months on any one occasion, the longer period being admissible only on medical grounds. The total period of extraordinary leave (including three months) shall not exceed two years during entire period of an employee's service. The leave sanctioning authority may grant extraordinary leave in combination of privilege leave at the request of the employee.

(c) No leave salary shall be paid for the period spent on extraordinary leave.
