(1) The Vice-chancellor, if he considers necessary, may appoint a pro Vicechancellor form amongst the professors of the University. (2) The Pro Vice-chancellor appointed under sub-section (1) shall discharge the duties in addition to his duties as a professor. (3) The Pro Vice-chancellor shall hold office at the pleasure of the Vicechancellor. (4) The Pro Vice-chancellor shall get an honorarium of rupees one thousand per month. (5) The Pro Vice-chancellor shall assist the Vice-chancellor in respect of such matters, as may be specified by the Vice-chancellor in this behalf, from time to time and shall preside over the meetings of the University in the absence off the Vice-chancellor and shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as may be assigned or delegated to him by the Vice- chancellor.
