Section 15: Constitution of Academic Council

(1) The Academic Council shall consist of the following members, namely:- Class-I: Ex-officio Members

(a) the Vice-Chancellor;

(b) the Secretary to the Government in-charge of the Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries Department;

(c) the Managing Director of Rajasthan Co-operative Dairy Federation;

(d) the Director of Animal Husbandry;

(e) the Director of Fisheries;

(f) the Dean of each college;

(g) the Dean of each Faculty;

(h) the Director of Research;

(i) the Director of Clinics;

(j) the Director of Extension Education;

(k) other Directors as specified in Statutes;

(l) the Registrar;

Class-II: Other Members

(l) ten members from amongst the heads of departments to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor on rotational basis; and

(m) three persons having special knowledge or practical experience in different aspects of veterinary and animal sciences to be nominated by the Vice- Chancellor.

Explanation.-For the purpose of this sub-section, expression "Secretary to the Government in-charge" means the Secretary to the Government in-charge of a department and includes an Additional Chief Secretary and a Principal Secretary when he or she is in charge of a department.

(2) The term of office of the members of the Academic council, other than the ex-officio members, shall be three years.

(3) The members of the Academic Council shall not be entitled to receive any remuneration from the University except such daily and travelling allowances as may be prescribed:

Provided that nothing contained in this sub-section shall preclude any member from drawing his or her normal emoluments to which he or she is entitled by virtue of other office he or she holds.
