(1) Subject to the other provisions of this Act, the State Government shall pay to every Zamindar or Biswedar who is divested of his estate under this Act, out of the Consolidated Fund of the State, compensation which shall be determined in accordance with the principles laid down in the Schedule annexed hereto. (2) Such compensation shall be payable as from the date of vesting and shall carry simple interest at the rate of two and a half per cent per annum from that date till the date of payment, but no interest shall be payable on such amount of compensation as may remain unpaid for any default of the Zamindar or Biswedar or his agent or representative in interest.
