Section 40: Fine in respect of Civil offences (No.5)

Regulations for the Navy Part IICentral Regulations · 1957

(1) A fine not exceeding Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty may be imposed summarily when a sailor is found guilty of a Civil offence and the amount of fine shall be credited to the ship’s Imprest Account.

(2) The Commanding Officer may, while passing the sentence of fine Under Subregulation (1), order the whole or any part of the fine recovered to be applied in the payment to any aggrieved person as compensation for any loss or injury caused to him by the said offence.
