(1) A candidate to be eligible for promotion, as a Commissioned Air Engineer must:
(b) be not more than 37 years of age on the date of promotion; provided that the Chief of the Naval Staff may relax the age limit upto a maximum of one year in exceptional cases;
(c) have passed the prescribed professional examination for promotion.
(2) before a candidate is recommended to take the professional examination, he must:
(a) be qualified under Regulation 181;
(b) have passed the educational test for Branch Rank;
(c) (i) have served for not less than six years since being rated Acting Artificer 4th class, of which at least 31/2 years must have been in a sea-going ship and or/a Naval Air Station.
(ii)have served for not less than two years in a sea- going ship and or/ a Naval air Station after completing the Mechanician course.
(3) Candidates who satisfy all the requirements of sub-regulation (1) may be considered for promotion to Branch Rank.
