Whereas Ihe following draft rules further TO amend rhe Animal Birth Control (Dogs) Rules, 2001 is hereby published, as required by sub-section (1) of Section 38 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, I960 (59 of I960), for the information of the public likely to be affected thereby; and the notice is hereby givcu thai the said draft rules shall be taken into consideration on or after the expiry of a period of thirty days from the dale of publication of this nolification;
And whereas any person desirous of making any suggestions or objections with respect to the said drall rules may forward the same, wilhin the period so specified, to the Joint Secretary (Animal Welfare) of the Ministry of linvironmcnt and Forests. DRAFT RULES
1. (1.) These ruie^ may be called the Animal Birth Control {Dogs) Amendment Rules, 2009.
(2) They shall come into force on die date of their filial publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Animal Birth Control (Dogs) Rules, 2001 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in rule 4,—
(a) after the words "Constituted by the local authority", Ihe words "for a period 4)1* Ihree years" shall be inserted;
(b) after clause (r), the following clause shall he inserted, namely;— "(g) a representative of the people who is a humanitarian or a well known individual wJ«r has experience in animal welfare in the locality''.
