PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (i) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 340] NEW DELHI, TUESDAY, JULY 6,1999/ASADHA 15, 1921 1995 GI/99 (1) 2 T H E G A Z E T T E O F I N D I A : E X T R A O R D I N A R Y [PART I I—SEC. 3( I ) ] MINISTRY OF FINANCE (Department of Economic Affairs) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 6th July, 1999 G.S.R. 490(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by section 15 of the Government Savings Banks Act, 1873 (5 of 1873), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Savings Bank General Rules, 1981, namely:-
1. (1) These rules may be called the Savings Bank General (Amendment) Rules, 1999.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Savings Bank General Rules, 1981, in rule 13, in sub-rule 4, -
(1) in clauses (a) and (b), for the words "twenty thousand rupees" the words "sixty thousand rupees" shall be substituted;
(2) in clause (b), for the Table, the following Table shall be substituted, namely :- 3 " Table Name of Authority
(i) Departmental Sub-Postmasters in Time Scale Post Offices.
(ii) Sub-Postmasters of Lower Selection Grade Post Offices.
(iii) Sub-Postmasters/ Deputy. Postmasters/ Postmasters in Higher Selection Grade ( All Non-Gazetted).
(iv) Deputy Postmasters/ Senior Postmasters/ Deputy Chief Post masters/ Superintendent of Post Offices/ Deputy Superintendent of Post Offices {All Gazetted Group -B)
(v) Chief Postmasters in Head Offices, Senior Superintendents of Post Offices. (Al/ Group -A) .
(vi) Regional Directors/ Director (General Post offices) [ In Mumbai & Calcutta]

1. (1) These rules may be called the National Savings Certificate (VIII Issue) (Amendment) Rules, 1999.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the National Savings Certificate (VIM Issue) Rules, 1989, in rule 20,-
(1) in sub-rule (1), for the letters and figures "Rs.20,000" the letters and figures "Rs.60,000" shall be substituted;
(2) in sub-rule (2), for the Table, the following Table shall be substituted, namely :- " Table

1. (1) These rules may be called the Kisan Vikas Patra (Amendment) Rules, 1999.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Kisan Vikas Patra Rules, 1988, in rule 26, -
(a) in sub-rule (1), -
(i) in clause (a), for the letters and figures "Rs.20,000" the letters and figures "Rs. 60,000" shall be substituted;
