Section 13: Selection of officers and other staff members for completing the work relating to atrocity

Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Rules, 1995Central Rules · 1989

(1) The State Government shall ensure that the administrative officers and other staff members to be appointed in an area prone to atrocity shall have the right aptitude and understanding of the problems of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes.

(2) It shall also be ensured by the State Government that persons from the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes are adequately represented in the administration and in the police force at all levels, particularly at the level of police and police station.
