(1) Every designated depository participant shall appoint a compliance officer who shall be responsible for monitoring the compliance of the Act, rules and regulations, notifications, guidelines and instructions issued by the Board or the Central Government.

(2) The compliance officer shall immediately and independently report any non-compliance observed by him to the Board.

34. Every designated depository participant shall, as and when required by the Board or the Reserve Bank of India, submit to the Board or the Reserve Bank of India, as the case may be, Page 21 of 28 any information, such records or documents in relation to its activities of foreign portfolio investor.
