(1) Notwithstanding' anything contained in this Act or Police Act, Transfer, 1861, it shall be competent for the State Government or the Inspector- Genera], if so authorised by the State Government in this behalf, to transfer officer of the police force appointed under the Police Act, 1861, to the Force and vice-versa.
(2) On the trartsfer of an officer of the police force appointed under the Police Act, 1861, to the Force or vice-versa, he shall be deemed to be an officer of the Force or the police force, as the case may be, to which he is transferred and in the performance of his functions, he shall, subject to such order as the State Government may make, be deemed to be vested with such powers and privileges, and be subject to the liabilities, of an officer of the grade in the Force or the police force, as the case may be, to which he has been transferred, as may be specified in the order.

1i. The Commandant shall, subject to the orders of the Inspector-General, direct and regulate all matters of arms, drill exercise, discipline, mutual relations, distribution of duties, and alljthe matters of executive detail in the fulfilment of their duties by the officers of the Force and members of the subordinate ranks under his charge.
