Be il onacted by the Leglslature of Sikkim in the Flfiy'Sevenlh year of lhe Republic of lndia as follows:'

Chapter I Preliminary Short ti e, extent 7. (i) l-his Act may be called the S kkim State Disaster l\lanagernenl Act, :1004.

(ii) lt extends to the whote of the Slate oi Sikkim.

(li ) lt shall corne into force on such date as tjle Siate Government may, by notiiication in lhe olficial Gaze e, appo nt, Definitions 2_ ln this Act, unless the context otherw se requires, - a. "Affecled area' meanslhe area declared as such underclause (2) of sectlon 16 oi this Aci;
