Section 6: Establishment of markets

The Tamil Nadu Agricultural Produce Marketing Regulation Act, 1987State Act of Tamil Nadu · Act 27 of 1987

(1) Every market committee shall establish in the notified area such number of markets providing such facilities, as the Government may, from time to time, direct for the purchase and sale of the notified agricultural produce.

(2) The Government shall, as soon as may be, after the establishment of a market by a market committee under sub-section (1), declare, by notification, the area of the market and such area around the market as may be specified in the notification to be a notified market area for the purposes of this Act in respect of any notified agricultural produce.
