Section 140: Use of internal combustion engine

Tamil Nadu Building And Other Construction Workers (Regulation Of Employment And Conditions Of Service) Rules,2006State Rules of Tamil Nadu · 1996

The employer shall ensure at a construction site of a building or other construction work that no internal combustion engine is used underground in excavation or tunneling work unless such engine is so constructed that,-

(a) the air entering the engines gets cleared before entry; and

(b) no fumes or sparks are emitted by the engine.
