Section 2: Definitions

The Tamil Nadu Catering and Establishments Rules,1959State Rules of Tamil Nadu · 1958

In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,-

(a) "Act" means the Tamil Nadu Catering Establishments Act, 1958 (Tamil Nadu Act XIII of 1958);

(b) "Form" means a form appended in these rules; and

(c) "Section" means a section of the Act.

CHAPTER II REGISTRATION OF CATERING ESTABLISHMENTS 2[3. Form of application and fees to be sent by the employer to the Inspector under sub-section (1) of section 4. - (1) The application to be sent by the employer to the Inspector under sub-section (1) of section 4 shall be in Form No. I.]

(2) The fees to be sent together with the application referred to in sub-rule (1) shall be as specified in the Table below :- 1 Subs. by S.R.O. No. A-696 of 1963, dated the 28th June, 1963 2 Subs. by S.R.O. A-1/76, dated the 30th December, 1975 2 1[THE TABLE] If the number of employees proposed to be employed on any day during the calendar year to which the registration relates :- Number of employees Fees (In Rupees) does not exceed 5 250/- exceeds 5 but does not exceed 10 500/- exceeds 10 but does not exceed 20 1,000/- exceeds 20 but does not exceed 50 2,500/- exceeds 50 but does not exceed 100 5,000/- exceeds 100 but does not exceed 500 10,000/- exceeds 500 50,000/- 2[3-A. Inspector's power to call for particulars before registration. - Before registering the catering establishment and issuing a registration certificate under 3[sub-section (3) of section 4], the Inspector may, for the purpose of being satisfied about the correctness of the 4[application] sent to him under sub-section (1) of that section, call for such particulars as he may think fit.]
