I. VESTING OF PROPERTIES.
WHEREAS, an application has been made to the Government of Tamil Nadu under clause (b) of sub-section
(1) of Section 6 of the Charitable Endowments Act, 1890 (Central Act VI of 1890) by Prof. K. Shajahan, College Librarian, Residing at No. 38/230, Awayar Street, Vellanathan Patti, Melur, Madurai District-625 106, the donor of the said Endowment for vesting the property specified in the Schedule below, in the Treasurer of Charitable Endowments, Chennai appointed under Section 3 of the said Act for the State of Tamil Nadu, the Governor of Tamil Nadu, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 4 of the said Act, hereby orders that the said property be vested in the Treasurer aforesaid, and be held by him and his successors in office, subject to the provisions of the said Act and the Rules which from time to time, may be or shall be made or deemed to have been made thereunder and subject to the conditions setforth in the Scheme settled under Section 5 of the said Act, for the administration of the said Endowment.

THE SCHEDULE
1. The Fund shall be called “The Melur Jenova Begam Shajahan Charitable Endowment Fund” tenable in the Government Arts College, Melur, Madurai District-625 106.
2. The said Fund shall be administered by the Endowment Committee, Government Arts College, Melur, Madurai District-625 106.
3. From and out of the annual interest accruing on the said Fund, the prize shall be given to the top ranker in Part II of Undergraduate courses among the current batch students, who completed the course at Government Arts College, Melur, Madurai District-625 106.
4. If more than one student secures the same marks, the prize shall be equally distributed among them.
5. The mode by which the interest amount shall be given to the student may be specified by the administration.
6. The unutilized amount of the interest shall be added to the corpus of the said Fund.

No.II(2)/HWMP/679/2017.—The Governor of Tamil Nadu having been satisfied that the lands specified in the Schedule below have to be acquired for Highways purpose to wit for the Construction of Road Over Bridge at km 158/8 of old NH45 Road Passing Through Villupuram Town in lieu of Existing L.C.No.2, At Railway Km 2/2-3 In Between Villupuram And Venkatesapuram Railway Stations at Villupuram Katpadi line in Vilupuram Taluk and Town and it having already been decided that the entire amount of compensation to be awarded for the lands is to be paid out of the funds controlled or managed by Divisional Engineer (Highways) Villupuram after having considered the cause shown by the owner (or) other person having interest on such lands as the case may be do hereby publish the following notice under sub-section (1) of Section 15 of the Tamil Nadu Highways Act, 2001 (Tamil Nadu Act 34 of 2002).
NOTICE Under sub-section (1) of Section 15 of the Tamil Nadu Highways Act, 2001 (Tamil Nadu Act 34 of 2002) the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby acquires the lands specified in the Schedule below measuring to an extent of 01616 Sq.mts to the same, a little more or less needed for the Construction of Road Over Bridge at Km 158/8 of old NH45 road passing through Villupuram Town in lieu of existing L.C.No.2, at Railway km 2/2-3 in between Villupuram and Venkatesapuram Railway Stations at Villupuram Katpadi line, Villupuram Taluk, and Town in Villupuram District.

No.II(2)/LE/681/2017.—In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 87 read with Section 91A of the Employees State Insurance Act, 1948 (Central Act XXXIV of 1948), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby exempts the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation, Chennai from the operation of the said Act for the period of one year from 25-7-2017 to 24-7-2018.
(1) The above exemption is subject to the following conditions, namely:-
(a) The aforesaid Management wherein the employees are employed shall maintain a Register showing the names and designations of the exempted employees.
(b) Not withstanding the exemption, the employees shall continue to receive such benefits under the said Act to which they might have become entitled to on the basis of the contributions paid prior to the date from which exemption granted by this Notification operates.
(c) The contribution for the exempted period, if already paid shall not be refunded.
(2) The employer of the said shall submit in respect of the period during which that management was subject to the operation of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said period”) returns, in such form and containing such particulars as were due from it in respect of the said period under the Employees State Insurance (General) Regulations, 1950.

(3) Any Social Security Officer appointed by the Corporation under sub-section (1) of Section 45 of the said Act, or other official authorised in this behalf shall for the purpose of,—
(i) verifying the particulars contained in any return submitted under sub-section (1) of Section 44 of the said Act for the said period; or
(ii) ascertaining whether registers and records were maintained as required by the Employees State Insurance (General) Regulations, 1950 for the said period; or
(iii) ascertaining whether the employees continue to be entitled to the benefits provided by the employer in cash and in kind, being benefits in consideration of which exemption is being granted under this Notification; or.
(iv) ascertaining whether any of the provisions of the said Act had been complied with during the period when such provisions were in force in relation to the said workshops and stores be empowered to,-
(a) require the principal or immediate employer to furnish to him such information as he may consider necessary; or
(b) enter any Management, office or other premises occupied by such principal or immediate employer at any reasonable time and require any person found in charge thereof to produce to such Social Security Officer or other official and allow him to examine such documents, books and other documents relating to the employment of persons and payment of wages or to furnish to him such information as he may consider necessary; or
(c) examine the principal or immediate employer his agent or servant, or any persons found in such Management office or other premises, or any person when the said Social Security Officer or other official has reasonable cause to believe to have been an employee; or
(d) make copies of or take extracts from any register, account book or other document maintained in such Management office or other premises.
Revision of Minimum Rates of Wages in the Tobacco (Beedi Rolling) Manufactory in the Employment in any Tobacco (including Beedi making) manufactory under the Minimum Wages Act.

No.II(2)/LE/682/2017.—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 3 and sub-section
(2) of Section 5 of the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 (Central Act XI of 1948) and in supersession of the Labour and Employment Department Notification No. II(2)/LE/597(a)/2012, published at pages 1 and 2 of Part II-Section 2 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazettze Extraordinary, dated the 13th September 2012, the Governor of Tamil Nadu after consultation with the Advisory Board hereby revises the minimum rates of wages payable to the classes of works in the Tobacco (Beedi Rolling) Manufactory in the Employment in any Tobacco (including beedi making) manufactory in the State of Tamil Nadu, specified in column (2) of the Schedule below, as specified in the corresponding entries in column
(3) thereof:-

Explanations.-
(1) The above rates are exclusive of the payment, if any, being made by way of bonus.
(2) Dearness Allowance.-In addition to the minimum rates of basic wages fixed above, the employees shall be paid dearness allowance as indicated below:-
(i) The dearness allowance is linked to the Average Chennai City Consumer Price Index Number for the year 2008, that is, 3384 points with base 1960=100 and for any future raise of every point over and above 3384 points, an increase of 3 (three) paise per 1000 beedies shall be paid as dearness allowance.
(ii) The dearness allowance shall be calculated every year on the 1st April on the basis of the average of the indices for the preceding twelve months, that is from January to December.
(3) Wherever the existing wages are higher than the minimum wages fixed herein, the same wages shall be continued to be paid.
(4) No distinction in the payment of wages shall be made in the case of men and women employee.
