Tamil Nadu Farmers' Management of Irrigation Systems Election Rules, 2003State Rules of Tamil Nadu · 2001

In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,—

(a) "Act" means the Tamil Nadu Farmers' Management of Irrigation Systems Act, 2000 (Tamil Nadu Act 7 of 2001);

(b) "Assistant returning Officer" means an Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar appointed by the Collector for the conduct of election;

(c) "Form" means a Form appended to these Rules;

(d) "Polling Officer" means an Officer appointed by the Collector to assist the Presiding Officer while taking poll in a Polling station;

(e) "Presiding Officer" means an Officer appointed by the Collector for taking poll in a Polling station;

(t) "Returning Officer" means an Officer not below the rank of Revenue Divisional Officer appointed by the Collector for the conduct of election;

(g) The words and expressions used but not defined in these rules shall have the respective meanings assigned to them in the Tamil Nadu Farmers' Management of Irrigation Systems Act, 2000 (Tamil Nadu Act 7 of 2001) and the Tamil Nadu Farmers' Management of Irrigation Systems Rules, 2002.
