The Tamil Nadu Highways Act, 2001State Act of Tamil Nadu · Act 34 of 2002

(1) The Government may, by notification, appoint an officer of the Highways Department of the Government not below the rank of the Chief Engineer, as the State Highways Authority.

(2) The Divisional Engineer, Highways Department of the Government incharge of each division, shall be the Highways authority for that division.
