Part -VI Offences and Penalties (1) Any person who fails to obtain a licence under section 5 or 6, shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to two years and with fine which may extend to fifty thousand rupees. (2) Where A Home For Women And Children Registerable Under Sub-Section (1) Or SubSection (2) Of Section 12 Fails To Get Itself Registered Within The Period Specified For Registration, The Owner Or Manager Or Resident Manager Of Such Homes Shall Be Punishable With Imprisonment Which May Extend To Two Years And With Fine Which May Extend To Fifty Thousand Rupees. (3) Any person who fails to comply with any of the provisions of this Act other than sections 5,6 and 12 or of any rule made thereunder or any of the conditions of a licence or a certificate of registration shall be punishable in the case of a first offence with imprisonment of not less than two years which may extend to three years and with fine of fifty thousand rupees, and in the case of second or subsequent offence, with imprisonment of not less than three years which may extend to five years and with fine of one lakh rupees.
