Section 16: The Senate to be the supreme governing body

The Senate shall be the supreme governing body of the University and shall have power to review the action of the Syndicate and of the Academic Council save where the Syndicate and the Academic Council have acted in accordance with powers conferred on them by this Act, the statutes, the ordinances or the regulations and shall exercise all the powers of the University not otherwise provided for and all powers requisite to give effect to the provisions of this Act:

Provided that if any question arises whether the Syndicate or the Academic Council has acted in accordance with such powers as aforesaid or not, the question shall be decided by a resolution passed by not less than two-thirds of the number of members present and voting at a meeting of the Senate and the decision thereon shall be final.
