the benefit of its oflicers, teachers and other persons employed by the University, such pension, gratuity, insurance and provident fund as it may deem fit, in such manner and subject to such conditions, as may be prescribed by statutes,
(2) Where the University has so instituted a povident fund under sub-section (I), the Government may declare that the provisions of the , Provident Funds Act, 1925 (Central Act XIX of 1925), shall apply to such fund as if the University were a local authority and the fund, a' Government Provident Fund.

I 41. Terms and conditions of service of Co-0rdinatd.v of University departments and Dean ojhstudents.--(l) There shall be a Co-ordinator of ' University departments who will act as a liaison officer between the Vice- " m c e u g r and the Heads of departments of the University. He shall perform. such functions and discharge such duties as* may be prescribed by statutes.
, I I . (2) The& shall be a Dean of students in the University who shall be in-charge of the welfare of, and the discipline among, the students. He shall exercise such powers and perform such functions and discharge such - duties as may be prescribed by statutes. , # <-
CHAPTER VIII. . I STATUTES, ORDINANCES AND REGULATIONS.
t l , lii 42. Statutes.-(1) The Governing Council may, fiom time to time, ii make statutes and amend or repeal the same. *2> .

, (g) the authentication of the orders of decisions of the authoritie of the University;

(j) the qualifications of the teachers and other persons by the University and affiliated colleges or institutions ;

(n) the conditions of affiliation of colleges to the University ;

(a) the agmission of the students to the University and to its 'aililiated colleges and the levy of fees for admission to the University, colleges and University laborato~ies ;

(b) the courses of study leading to all degrees diplomas and other academic distinctions of the University ;

- , I : (3) In making the ordinahces, the Govcrn~ng Council shall bonsult,- 3 2
(a) the Boards of Studies in matters relating to thk appointment and ' duties of examiners .; and * 3 '(b) th'e Standing Academic Board in matters relating to t . ioiduct or standard of examination.
I i I - + (4) All ordinances made by the Governing Council shall h a ~ a effect from such date as the Governing Council may specify a11d every - ordinance so made shall be submitted, as soon as may be, to the cliaruiellor and the Senate for information.
