Section 30: Electoral roll for District Panchayat

(1) The electoral roll of a District Panchayat shall be the same as the electoral roll of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly prepared and revised in accordance with the provisions of the law for the time being in force in the district and as revised, modified, updated and published in accordance with the provisions of sub-section (2).

(2) Subject to the superintendence, direction and control of the 1[Tamil Nadu State Election Commission], the electoral roll shall be revised, modified and updated and published by such officer as may be designated by the 1[Tamil Nadu State Election Commission] in this behalf in the prescribed manner.

(3) No amendment, transposition or deletion of any entry in the electoral roll of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly made after the last date of making nomination for 21 election in any District Panchayat territorial ward and before the notification of the result of such election, shall form part of the electoral roll for such election for the purpose of this section.
