(1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Tamil Nadu. (3) (a) This Section and Sections 3 and 6 shall come into force in the whole of the State of Tamil Nadu at once. (b) The rest of this Act shall come into force— i. in the district of Salem, at once; and ii. in any other local area in the State of Tamil Nadu on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint.
