2. BE it onacted in the Eighth Year of the Republic tC India as follows :-

1. This Act ~nay be called the l[Tam.il Nadu] (Trans- Short title. ferred Territory) Re-enact ing Act, 1957.

2. In this Act, "transfezred territory" means theDefinition. ~anyakumari district and the Sheocottah ttaluk of thi Tirunelveli district.

3. The President's Acts specified in the Schedule, in permanent atheir application to the transferred tewitory, are hereby re-enactreenacted permanently. ment certain of Acts.

4. The re-enactment of any President's Act by section 3 of this Act shill not be deemed to affect the omration of any amendment or adaptation made in the ~ksident's Act so re-ellacted OF ill. any enactment unlmded by that Act, on or after the 1st day 'of November 1956 L:%re the commencement of this Act.
