(1) There shall be a Deputy Chairpsrson in every municipality who shall be elected by !he councillors of the respective municipality from among themselves . , in accordance with such procedure as may be prescribed.

(3) ' Tlie Deputy Chairperson shall be deemed to have vacated (his office on cessatipn ,of -his off ice as a councillor.

In the event of the occurence of any vacancy in the office of the .Chairperson 'by reason of his death, resignation or removal, or otherwise, the Deqnry Chairperson shall act as Chairperson until the date on which a new Chairperson is elected In accordance with the provisions of this Act to fill such vacancy and enters upon hrs office. ..
