I BI. i t enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Fifty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- I . ( 1 ) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Urban Local Bodies (Suspension of Oneratinn) A c t 7000 Short title and commcnce- ,
(2) I t shall be deemed to have come into force on the 23rd day of August 2000.

3. The Acts referred to in sub-section ( I ) of sectlon 200 of the 1998 Act (hereinafter Revival of I Acts, rules, 8 referred to as the repealed Acts) and all rules, by-laws, notifications. notice, orders, directions etc.
l or any other proceedings issued and schemes framed and works sanct i~ned by the State Government or any corporation or municipality or town panchayat, as the case may be, under the repealed Acts which were in force lmmedlately before the 1 st day of August 2000 shall, for all purposes, be deemed to have been revlved on and from the 1st day of August 2000.

4. All acts done or proceedings taken by any officer or authority under the 1998 Act and Valtdat~on.
t the rules made thereunder immediately before the 23rd day of August 2000, which are not inconsistent with the relevant provisions of the repealed Acts and the rules, etc., revived by section 3, shall, for all purposes, be deemed to be and to have always been validly done or SQ = ?
taken in accordance with the provisions of the repealed Acts and the rules, etc., revived by section 3 as if the said repealed Acts and rules, etc. had been in force at all material times, when such acts or proceedings were done or taken.

(2) No legal proceeding or remedy in respect of right, privileg,e, obligation or liability acquired or accrued or incurred under the 1998 Act which is not consistent with the provisions of the repealed Acts and the rules, etc. (rev~ved by sectlon 3) shall be ~nstituted, continued or , enforced.
