PART II—Section I PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 58] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 24, 1954 MINISTRY OF LAW New Delhi, the 24th December 1954 The following Acts of Parliament received the assent of the President on the 23rd December, 1954 and arc hereby published for general information: — THE INDIAN TARIFF (THIRD AMENDMENT) ACT, 1954 No. 46 OF 1954 23rd December, 1954[ An Act further to amend the Indian Tariff Act, 1934.
BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifth Year of the Republic of India as follows: —
1. Short title and commencement.—(1) This Act may be called the Indian Tariff (Third Amendment) Act, 1954.
(2) The provisions of clause (ii) of section 2 [relating to Items Nos. 71 (13)(a), 72 (11) and 72 (33)] shall come into force on the first day of January, 1955; and the remaining provisions shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of the First Schedule to Act XXXII of 1934. In the First Schedule to the Indian Tariff Act, 1934,—
(i) in Items Nos. 11(2), 11(4), 11(5), 21(3), 28(4), 28(15), 30(14), 48(1), 48(4), 48(5), 48(7), 63(30), 63(33) (b), 63(34) and 71(8), in the last column headed "Duration of protective rates of duty", for the word, figures and letters "December 31st,.
1054", wherever they occur, the word, figures and letters "December 31st, 1955" shall be substituted;

(a) in the third column, for the word "Protective" wherever it occurs, the word "Revenue" shall be substituted;
and
(b) the entry in the last column headed "Duration of protective rates of duty" shall be omitted;
(iil) in Item No. 75(10)(iii), in the entry in the second column, the words "front and rear springs other than coil springs," shall be omitted;
(iv) after Item No. 75(14), the following item shall be inserted, namely: — "75(i5) Leaf springs and parts thereof, adapted for use as parts and accessories of motor vehicles other than motor cycles and motor scooters.

THE APPROPRIATION (No. 4) ACT, 1954 No. 47 OF 1954 . I 23rd December, 1954] An Act to authorise payment and appropriation of certain further sums from and out of the Consolidated Fund of India for the service of the financial year 1954-55.
BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifth year of the Republic of India as follows:—
1. Short title.—This Act may be called the Appropriation (No 4) Act, 1954.
2. Issue of Rs. 18,97,30,000 out of the Consolidated Fund of India for the year 1954-55.—From and out of the Consolidated Fund of India there may be paid and applied sums not exceeding those specified in column 3 of the Schedule amounting in the aggregate to the sum of eighteen crores ninety-seven lakhs and thirty thousand rupees towards defraying the several charges which will come in course of payment during the financial year 1954-55, in respect of the services specified in column 2 of the Schedule.
3. Appropriation.—The sums authorised to be paid and applied from and out of the Consolidated Fund of India by this Act shall be appropriated for the services and purposes expressed in the Schedule in relation to the said year.

BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifth Year of the Republic of India as follows: —
1. Short title and commencement.—(2) This Act may be calleo.
the Industrial Disputes (Amendment) Act, 1954.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of April, 1954.
2. Amendment of section 25A, Act XIV of 1947.—In sub-section
(2) of section 25A of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), for the Explanation, the following
Explanation shall be substituted, namely: — "Explanation.—In this section and in sections 25C, 25D am 25E, 'industrial establishment' means—
(i) a factory as denned in clause (m) of section 2 of the Factories Act, 1948 (LXIII of 1948); or
(ii) a mine as denned in clause (j) of section 2 of the Mines Act, 1952 (XXXV of 1952); or (Hi) a plantation as denned in clause (f) of section 2 of the Plantations Labour Act, 1951 (LXIX of 1951;."
3. Amendment of section 25J, Act XIV of 1947.—In th.2 proviso to sub-section (1) of section 25J of the principal Act, after the words "which a workman has under", the words, figures and brackets "the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 (XI of 1948) or any notification or order issued thereunder or" shall be inserted.
THE TEA (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1954 No. 49 OF 1954 123rd December, 1954J An Act to amend the Tea Act, 1953.
BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifth Year of the Republic of India as follows:—
1. Short title.—This Act may be called the Tea (Amendment) Act, 19'54.
2. Amendment of section 25, Act 29 of 1953.—In sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Tea Act, 1953, for the words "at such rate not exceeding two rupees per one hundred pounds a* the Central Government may notify in the Official Gazette", the words "at the rate of four rupees per one hundred pounds" shall be substituted.
