Section 41

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Act, 1989.State Act of Telangana · Act 15 of 1989

(1) No water pipe shall be laid in a drain or on the surface of an open channel or house gully or within six meters of a cesspool or in any position where the pipe is likely to be damaged or the water therein polluted; and except with the approval of the Board, no cistern shall be constructed within six meters of a latrine, or cesspool.

(2) No latrine pit or soak pit or cesspool shall be constructed or made within six meters of any water pipe or cistern or in any position where the pipe or cistern is likely to be damaged or the water therein polluted.

(3) The Public Health Engineer incharge of sanitation shall take all precautionary measures to ensure that the sewerage and sewage do not flow into the water mains.
