(1) A member may resign his office by giving notice thereof in writing to the Government, and on the resignation Disqualifications and removal.

[Act No.34 of 1987] 9 being accepted, he shall be deemed to have vacated his office as such.
(2) A casual vacancy in the office of a member shall be filled by nomination of another person from the concerned category and a member so nominated shall hold office for the unexpired portion of the term of the office of his predecessor.
(3) No act or proceedings of the Board shall be invalid on the ground merely of the existence of any vacancy in, or any defect in the constitution of, the Board.
7. For the purpose of advising the Board in the discharge of its functions and in particular for carrying into effect any of the matters specified in sub-section (2) of section 12, the Board may constitute one or more committees consisting of at least one member of the Board and equal number of representative of employees and employers.
