Section 10: Powers of authorised officer to call for information, summoning of witnesses etc.
The Telangana Occupants of Homesteads (Conferment of Ownership) Act, 1976.State Act of Telangana · Act 21 of 1976
(1) The authorised officer may, for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this Act, by order, require any person to furnish such information in his possession relating to any dwelling house or homestead.
(2) The authorised officer shall, while holding an inquiry under this Act, have all the powers of a Civil Court, while trying a suit under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, in respect of the following matters, namely;
(a) summoning and enforcing the attendant of any person and examining him on oath;
(b) requiring the discovery and production of any document;
(c) reception of evidence on affidavits;
(d) requisitioning any public record from any court or office;
(e) issuing commission for examination of witnesses.
