Section 7: Penalties.

[(1)] Any person who contravenes or fails to comply with all or any of the provisions contained in this Act or any rule or order made thereunder shall be punishable with fine [which shall be not less than five hundred rupees] and any Court trying any such contravention or failure may direct that any [silkworm seed or cocoon] any vessel, receptacle, apparatus, package or covering containing the same in respect of which the Court is satisfied that such contravention or failure has occurred shall be forfeited to the Government.

[(2) Any person, who contravenes the provisions of clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 4-B or sub-section (2) thereof, shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to three months or with fine which shall not be less than five hundred rupees but which shall not exceed one thousand rupees or with both.]
