Section 16: Constitution of Grievance redressal and dispute resolution committees

(1) ·mere shall be a Griev�nco redressal and dispute resolution committee constituted by the Government under subsection ( 1) of section 20 of the Act for ,ill local mllhorities, comprising of a Chairperson, who has been a civil judge or a judicial magistrate and hvo other professionals as members.

(2) The Chairperson arnl members of the Grievance redressal and dispute resolution committee shall be appointed by the Government, for a pc1iod of tlu·ee years, extendablc for a further pedod of two years:

Provided that no Chairperson shall hold office as such after he has attained the age of sixty-seven years.

(3) Tiie headquarter of the Gdevance redressal and dispute resolution committee shall be at Aga1tala.
