Tripura Municipal Act_1994State Act of Tripura · Act 7 of 1994

( 1 ) If in the opinion of the State Government any Municipality- Dissolution of Munici-

(a) has shown its incompetence to perform, or has persistently made palities.

default in the performance of the duties imposed on it by or under this Act or any other law ; or

(b) has failed to carry out or implement the direction given by the State Government under this Act ; or

(c) has exceeded or abused its powers ;

i t may, by order to be published in the ofiicial Gazette, stating the reasons therefor, dissolve the Municipality and direct that it be reconstituted within such period not exceeding six months as may be specified in the order.

(2) The State Government shall, before making any order under subsection (1) give the Municipality an opportunity of being heard.

(3) Every order made under sub-section (1) shall be laid before the State Legislature as soon as i t may be after it is made.
