Ti-IE TRIPURA MUNICIPAL (DELIMITATION OF CONSTlTUENClES“, RULES, 1994 NOTIFICATION In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 274 of the Tripura Municipal Act, 1994. the State Government hereby makes the following rules to regulate the delimitation of Constituencies and all other matters relating thereto under the said Act namely;

PART—l

CHAPTER—1 PRE LIMINARY

1. SHORT TITLE AND COMMENCEMENT :

(1) These Rules may by called The Tripura Municipal (Delimitatioa cf Constituencies), Rules,1994 ;

(2) They shall come into force on and from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette ;

2. DEFINITION : .

(1) In these Rules, unless there is anything repugnant to the subject or context ;

(a) “Act” inans the Tripur‘a Municipal Act, 1994 (Tripura Act No. 8 ' of 1994) : ' i

(b) “Section” means a Section ofthe Act.

(2) The expression used in these rules and not otherwisa defined shall haVe the same meaning as are respectively assigned to them in the Act.

4. MANNER OF PUBLICATION BY ORDER UNDER RULE—3 '

(l) The draft of the Notification under rule-3 shall be publishe; in the Ofiicial Gazette and in local news papers.

5. No alteration, addition, amendments shall be made after the last gaze of filling of nomination in respeCt of any of the seats totlie Municipzl Cowcilor/Nagar Panchayats.

6. No further delimitation of constituencies and determination of seats for Municipal Council and the Nagar Panchayats, as the case may be, shall be made before the next Municipal General Election process is initiated.

7. The State Gox'ernment may, at any time, call for the reCords connected with the division of the area into constituencies or in respect of any allocation ofseat or seats or each of such constituency made under rule-3, for the purpose of satisfying itself of the correctness of any order passed or proceedings taken in the said matter by the District Magistrate and pass such orders thereon as may be deemed necessary.

8. REMOVAL OF DIFFICULTIES If any. ditficulty arises in giving efiect to the provisions of t'iese rules. the State Government, as occasion require, may. by order, do anything which appears to it to be necessary for the purpose of removing the difliculty.
