I u A GAZETTE ~~ Published by Authority EXTRAORDINARY ISSUE In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 43(1) of the prevention and control of Infectious' and Contagious Diseases of Animal Act 2009(CentralAct NO.27 of 2009), the Government ofTripura hereby make the following rules.
1., Short titleand commencement:-
(a) These Rules may be called "The Tripura Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases in Animals (Check Post and Quarantine Camp, Manner of Inspection etc.) Rules, 2014".
(b) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Gazette of Tripura.

(a) In these rules unless in context otherwise requires- .
(i) "Act" means the Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases in AnimalsAct:2009.
(ii) "Form" means a form appended to these Rules.
(iii) "Section" means Section of the Act.
(b) Words and expressions used in these Rules and not separately defined above shall have the same meaning as in the Act. ~., I ~ The manner of Inspection and the period of detention at a Check Post or at a Quarantine Camp. . t •

(b) The person in-charge, check post or quarantine station shall also collect the necessary samples for laboratory examination, if required.
(c) The person in charge, check po t may detain animals at the check post for a period not exceeding 1,2 hours for the purpose of inspection, compulsory, vaccination and identification / marking etc. For the animal vaccinated at the check post, the animal owner shall be given a vaccination certificate as required in Section 9 of the Act.
(d) After examination of the animal, the officer in charge shallelther allow entry of the animal to the notified Contr I area by issuing an Entry Permit in Form A, appended with these Rules or tr nsport the animals to the Quarantine Camp .
(e) .. . The cost of examination, Vacci ating, ear-tagging the animal or of any other activity at the check post, shall fixed by the Director of Animal Resources Development, Govt. of Tripura f om time to time and shall be borne by the animal ownf?r. .. '
4. Form of permit granted by the Officer i charge Quarantine Camp:
(a) The officer in charge ofthe qua antine camp shall detain the following animals: i. which are suffering from any , heduled notified disease; or ii. which have come in'to contact . ith or have been kept in the proximity of animal infected with a scheduled notified disease; or. '. . iii. transported by the ln.charqe, check post as detailed in 3 (d); or iv. of the species (notified foilo ing section 10 of the Act) while exiting from the infected area and shall be subjected to a quarantine of 14 days in a Quarantine Camp. ..j 2 " Tripura Gazette, Extraordinary Issue, April 5, 2014 A. D. . (b) The officer in charge, quarantine camp shall give an official acknowledgement to the animal owner for the animal detained in the quarantine camp. The form of the detention acknowledgement is appended as Form B. . (c) During quarantine, the animal. shall be ear-tagged bearing a unique number (for cattle, buffalo, sheep, goafand pigs) and branding / identified by any other suitable method (for donkey, horses). Animal shall be examined regularly for any scheduled disease. Animals' shall be vaccinated against the scheduled disease and provided with veterinary treatment, if required. If animals are vaccinated, the animal owner shall be provided with a vaccination certificate as required in Section 9 of the Act. ; --.,, J / f j I
(d) The cost of maintenance and vaccination of the animals during the quarantine shall be fixed by the Director from time to time and shall be borne by the animal owner.
(8) . After successful quarantine, the'officer in charge, quarantine camp shall release the animals to the animal owner and also grant the Quarantine Release Permit as per Form C appended with these Rules, under his signature. Form C shall also serve as Entry Permit as required in Section 15(2) of the Act.
5. If any question of interpretation or doubt arises in relation to these rules, the matter shall be referred to the Director of Animal Resources Development, Government ofTripura whose decision thereon shall be final and binding. t.
