The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council Act, 1979State Act of Tripura · Act 12 of 1979

(1) As soon as may be after the commencement of this Act the State Government shall, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf, a date on and from which there shall be an autonomous district comprising the tribal areas specified in the First Schedule appended to this Act.

(2) The State Government may, by order notified in the Official Gazette-

(a) include any other area into the said district;

(b) exclude any area from the said district;

(c) re-define the boundary of the said district:

Provided that no order under sub-section (2) shall be made except after consultation with the District Council for the autonomous district:

Provided further that any order made under subsection (2) may contain such incidental and consequential provisions as appear to the State Government to be necessary for giving effect to the provisions of the order.
