The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council Act, 1979State Act of Tripura · Act 12 of 1979

(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in any other law for the time being in force, the District Council shall have power to levy and collect within the Autonomous District all or any of the taxes payable under any of the Acts mentioned in the Second Schedule appended to this Act.

(2) The District Council shall have power to levy and collect within the autonomous district all or any of the following fees. that is te say-

(a) fees for the maintenance and development of schools, dispensaries or roads;

• • • • Consti tution of village councils by the Government in autonomous district for trials of suits cases and otrencet.

(b) fees on the entry of goods into a market for sale therein and tolls on passengers and goods carried in ferries for maintenance and development thereof;

(c) fees on vehicles (other than those mechanically propelled) and boats for regulating and managing traffic;

(d) fees on animals at rates and in the manner as may be prescribed .
