Section 3: Disqualifications

UGC (Disqualification, Retirement & Conditions for Service of Members) Rules, 1992Central Rules · 1956

(1) A person shall be disqualified, for continuing as a member:

(a) if he becomes of unsound mind and stands declared by a competent court; or

(b) if he is an undischarged insolvent.

(2) If any member is, without permission of the Commission, absent from any four consecutive meeting of the Commission, he shall cease to be the member the commission.

4. Pay and allowances of Chairman and Vice-chairman:

(1) The post of Chairman shall carry a basic pay of Rs. 8000/- per month and the post of Vice-Chairman shall carry a scale pay of Rs. 7300–100–7500–250–8000.

(2) The Chairman and the Vice-Chairman shall be entitles in addition to pay, to House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Dearness Allowance and such other allowances as admissible under the rules Central Government, officers of equivalent grade.

(3) The salary payable to the Chairman and the Vice-Chairman shall be fixed after taking into account to pension or pensionary value of terminal benefits both, if any, received by him on the analogy of rules as applicable to re-employed pensioners under Central Government.
