Section 2: Definitions

The Unique Identification Authority of India (Terms and Conditions of Service of Chairperson and Members) Rules, 2016Central Rules · 2016

(1) In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,—

(a) “Act” means the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (18 of 2016);

(b) “Authority” means the Unique Identification Authority of India established under subsection (1) of section 11 of the Act;

(c) “full-time Chairperson” means the Chairperson of the Authority appointed on full time basis under section 12 of the Act;

(d) “Member” means the part-time Member of the Authority appointed under section 12 of the Act;

(e) “part-time Chairperson” means the Chairperson of the Authority appointed on parttime basis under section 12 of the Act;

(2) Words and expressions used herein but not defined, and defined in the Act, shall have the same meanings assigned to them in the Act.
