In section 12 of the principal Act, after sub-section (7), the following subsection, shall be and shall be deemed always to have been inserted as if the provision thereof were in force on the date on which the Vice-Chancellor holding officer, immediately before the commencement of the amending Act, took charge of the duties of his office, namely:- "(8) The term of the office of the Vice-Chancellor shall commence with effect from the date of joining the duties of his office."
