Section 43: Power of close public street or square.

The Uttar Pradesh Avas Evam Vikas Parishad Adhiniyam, 1965State Act of Uttar Pradesh · Act 1 of 1966

(1) The Board may-

(a) turn, divert, discontinue the public use of , or permanently close, any street vested in it or any part thereof; or

(b) discontinue the public use of, or permanently close, any square vested in it or any part thereof.

(2) Whenever the Board discontinues the public use of, or permanently closes, any street or square vested in it, or any part thereof, it shall pay shall pay such compensation as may be determined in accordance with the rules to any person who sustains special damage by reason of such discontinuance or closure.

(3) When any street or square vested in the Board, or any part thereof, is permanently closed under sub-section(1), the Board may sell or lease so much of the same as is no longer required by it.
