Any offence punishable under this Act may either before or after the institution of the prosecution be compounded by the Housing Commissioner, or by any officer authorized in this behalf by the Housing Commissioner by a general or special order, on such terms as the Housing Commissioner or other officer, as the case may be thinks fit.
