(i) To provide suggestions for incorporating minimum road safety standards in the design and construction of highways and other important roads.
(ii) To provide suggestions for the development of driver skills and the establishment of driving training institutes and driving tracks in the state to strengthen the licensing process and to encourage private sector participation in this field.
(iii) To formulate, implement, and coordinate a plan to create awareness regarding road safety.
(iv) To formulate a policy regarding providing timely medical care to persons injured in road accidents. Disclaimer- This is translated copy of English Language.
(v) To formulate a policy/plan regarding providing financial assistance to persons injured and killed in road accidents.
(vi) To formulate a policy for the effective implementation of the rules related to road safety as mentioned in the Motor Vehicles Act and Rules.
(vii) Formulate road safety schemes and programs.
(viii) Provide guidelines for coordinating the work of all departments involved in road safety.
(ix) Consider other important issues related to road safety as needed. 4- Meeting of the State Road Safety Council will be two times in a year.
